Commencement Webcast Stats

We received details statistics from the vendor who was responsible for the Commencement Webcast, and I would like to share it with you here. First, a few numbers:
- We had 5546 unique visitors from all over the world during the 4 hours that we were live.
- Peak simultaneous usage was approximately 3000 during Senator Obama’s speech.
- On average each visitor spent 50 minutes watching the feed.
- In terms of operating systems, 66% were Windows, 4% Mac OS and 28% could not be identified.
- 89% of all visitors came from the United States; Visitors from 71 other countries (eg. Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Mozambique) enjoyed the webcast;
- Except for North Dakota, West Virginia, and Mississippi, at least one visitor from every other state in the USA viewed the webcast.
- 11 AM – 12 Noon saw 42% of all visitors viewing the webcast.
